SmoothMusic.org is entirely run by
volunteers. All costs (there are a lot
of them) come out of our own pockets.
Obviously this isn’t a sustainable business practice and so we are
asking for donations from listeners. The
more popular SmoothMusic becomes, the more expensive
it is to maintain both the website and radio stream. As we continue to grow, it becomes more
difficult to maintain the channel financially.
We need your help.
What will I get in return for donating?
For a start, you get 24 hours a day
of free, commercial-free, groovin’ music on SmoothMusic radio.
You also get access to the SmoothMusic.org reviews section as well as
other interesting sections of the site.
We will also display the names of all donors in our honourable mention
section. We might also
send you some SmoothMusic pins, stickers, or any
other cool things that we may happen to have laying around.
How will donations be used?
Your donations will only be used to finance
the website and the radio service. We
are always looking to make improvements.
We want to set up a dedicated server with lots of bandwidth. We also want to increase the number of slots
that we have. As you can see, any
donations that you can provide will only help turn SmoothMusic
into a better service.
Can I donate something besides money to
SmoothMusic.org?
Yes.
You can
offer us servers and bandwidth for audio streaming or you can offer something
that will benefit the website. For
bandwidth donations please contact mark@SmoothMusic.org. We also need programmers, web designers,
graphic designers, and anyone else who would like to help out. Even if you are just printing out and hanging
up a few flyers for us, you would be doing a great job to helping change the
face of Internet radio.
How else can I help out?
We receive a small amount of
commission from purchases at our online store. We also receive some commission for anything
bought on the click-though ‘buy’ links in our reviews section. We encourage you to check both of those
things out.
